Hi!!!! My name is tariro makoni :). I’m a strategist by trade, advising senior executives in tech on growth (based in nyc). Strategy is like my sun - it’s what I’m good at and the breeding ground for all of my frameworks to exist with contextual rigor. My moon (what guides me) would have to be that of a 90s tastemaker - if I could reincarnate today that’s who I’d be - shopping and curating and sampling and oohing and aahing across the world. My rising draws from my sun and my moon, where I spend hours analyzing shifts in culture, trends, and consumer interests via current events (the news) x peer reviewed papers (jstor !!) on the economy, sociology, geopolitics, et al. I studied sociology x international studies with a focus on economics/hegemonic shifts in college (Johns Hopkins), and feel so humbled to have grown into a resonant voice on themes related to fashion, beauty, culture, and more via my tiktok/instagram/press & interviews. I’d like to think that trademarked is the amalgamation of all my identities (sun/moon/rising) - seemingly disparate, yet inexplicably intertwined.

My last note is one of gratitude, over the past two years (tbt to the viral platform ugg video that launched a thousand ships), we have truly built a tight-knit (and very niche) community of thoughtful, intelligent, incredibly !!! chic, multifaceted, globally-conscious, and powerful women. You remind me of my little sister, my mom, my aunts, and my best friends. Women who exist beyond a single dimension, holding space for the fullness of who they are against the constant changes brought by the journey of life. I’m so grateful to have learned from each of you, and I truly hope this exists as the most tangible manifestation of the community we have built together.
