8 good things: #001
tgif, the vibe today is basically my instagram stories as list form - which is fun... i think ! i hope !!
The rugby is aggressively back…. and if you don’t believe me, trust vogue’s Christian Allaire. My hot take is that the best ones are either “borrowed” from a man in your life (dad, brother, boyfriend, husband, etc…), thrifted, or found on eBay.. sorry. Also, if it doesn’t have a white collar, it doesn’t count. Found this one that’s butter yellow & denim blue stripes, oversized, HAS ELBOW PATCHES….. like??? Another sexy one w/ vertical stripes, which is always a fun twist that is also universally flattering.
++ providing anecdotal evidence & proof: me last spring sporting my dad’s rugby from the 90s — “borrowed” in high school & never returned xx
Okkkk the Goldie LeWinter organic long sleeve is the ONLY t-shirt that has been able to go toe to toe with my staple from The Row. I’m not a short sleeve girl…..I’m anemic (read: always cold, fixations with ice, etc.). I HATE crewnecks that get too close to the neck, this one is more collarbone adjacent, similar to the Sherman, which I personally find most flattering if you have a larger bust, for visual balance! I love the look of a stiffer base layer sticking out from underneath a sweater or blazer, it’s the kind of chic/easy/playful that feels like it would nicely co-exist within the Nancy Meyers universe (see below). Lastly, the Goldie tee has that perfect boxy/shrunken fit that doesn’t sit too low on the hips — helpful if you have a wider hip to a narrower waist (something I also love about the Sherman). Goldie’s organic cotton is soft and luxe and it also has the flattering t-detail at the back!! If you’re feeling a pack of 3 for 20% off, here’s the link. If you just want one or two and prefer shopping on goop - linking black here and white here.
i am traveling today (it’s my sister’s family weekend @ dartmouth !!!) so here’s an authentic goldie layer w/ my staud chunky sweater on top (got a compliment on it when we were picking up the rental car in boston — minor dub, minor dub!!)
I went to Modern Citizen’s new soho flagship last week. It’s GORG. Fabulous basics, and they really nailed this buttercream button down. It has almost a horseshoe sleeve (the volume looks fab scrunched to the elbow) and obsessed with it worn open & layered. I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again — buttercream is crisp white’s younger & cooler sister. She’s a little unexpected yet supple and luxe and plays well with everything whilst bringing a warmth to every fit!! Obsessed. Wore mine to the sweat concert on Monday & felt very chic & breezy, albeit not very brat.
While we’re on the topic of SWEAT… i believe everyone should go. Like yes I was #blessed to receive the sold out MSG/NYC special: Addison Rae & Lorde + Charli & Troye !!! Diet Pepsi LIVE!!! Working it out on the remix LIVE !!! but I’ve ruminated on this experience more than I’d like to admit, and realize I’d still feel the same level of reverence and awe had we not been spoiled with such special guests. Like that concert revived something in me, TBD what, but I DEFINITELY know that I haven’t felt that alive since senior year of college.
The row 90s bag (sorry). I just bought her in early Sept, SHE FITS SO MUCH STUFF, is incredibly durable, and I loooove how nondescript she is/ how little attention she draws. I feel like that’s not discussed enough for the younger single girls strolling the streets of NYC. Sometimes you feel vulnerable with a more conspicuous bag. To the untrained eye, it looks like I took my brother’s toiletry bag. To the trained eye, you may still think it’s a duuuupe from amazon. I LOVE that level of ambiguity.
CAVEAT & HONESTY HOUR: as amazing as the pebbled leather is, my dear friend
has it in the smooth leather, which is so buttery and…elevated. She TOLD ME to wait for smooth, and I was too impatient. She was, of course, right. The smooth, to my knowledge, has only really been available in store, but is now available on 24S (owned by LVMH, they deliver fast, and I always have such a good experience with them). This is a mild regret I’ll carry forever, and I love this bag so much that I’m still tempted to also buy the smooth, but as I type, I realize how insane that is. I guess I just have to remember that all actions have consequences. patience is a virtue, after all.
I’ve been fixating on chocolate brown lately. Like everything choco brown is making my heart palpitate, but especially when it’s suede. I was scrolling vestiaire, as one does, and stumbled upon these two DELICIOUS chocolate brown suede (!!) trench coats: 1) the vintage Fendi has this stunning stitch detailing that also feels very vintage Chloe, and 2) the Gucci trench is more traditional but also just plain yummy. like are we seeing the equestrian silk lining??? r u mad bruv??? ok, enjoy.
Glossier doux - to be clear I haven’t tried this yet, but I am actually losing my mind thinking about how good this must smell. Everyone who has been around the pre-trademarked TM universe knows how mental I go for myrrh in a fragrance or home scent. I actually went on this diatribe last year with Ashley Weatherford, who is a beauty icon and also.. the Editor in Chief of Into The Gloss, when they invited me to join the shoot for 2023’s ITG gift guide. I remember she had a sparkle in her eye when I was talking about needing more myrrh and now, in hindsight, I’m wondering if she knew I was simply clairvoyant (kidding) & doux was OTW to deliver me from my everlasting search of Good Myrrh. To give more context on the myrrh of it all, it’s one of those rare scents that is both grounding and also kinda sexy…..I was also going to make a reference to loving the smell of a church but now that feels wrong given the aforementioned context…... Anyway, I will be trying Doux the second I can get my hands on it (sold out @ sephora). And I WILL report back!!
The Elusive & International Hot Girls (EIHG) are going stealth mode, coo-coo bananas for everything tamburins. The kicker is that you can’t find it outside of Korea. My very own EIHG bestie lives in London and surprised me with this hand cream that she picked up whilst visiting Korea last year. It’s one of my prized possessions, and when I feel generous enough to share, people go insane for it (so hydrating and smells infectious — subtle tangerines and creamy sandalwood). I was recently told by another dear EIHG in my life, a *true* fashion & beauty insider, that Tamburins is the Next Big Thing. Apparently on the buy & sell side, the EIHG’s are united. I want to buy this Pumkini candle on eBay (sweet pumpkin/shiso leaf/coconut milk — like?? DUB CITY for FALL). But odds are high that it’s a duuuupe and not the real thing, right? Am I crazy enough to gamble $100 to find out? Probably, but if my mom is reading… then no, no I’m not :) :) :).
aaaand that concludes the first edition of our unfiltered browse, shop, and…YAP. missed this. love this. hope u enjoyed. i wanna hear what your fixations are, what you’re inspired by, how we’re feeling about fall, etc etc etc!!!! hit me in the comments or in our group chat. ILY the most <3

What a delightful Monday morning read. A lil splurge for my brain before the grind ☕️
a decade ago i bought a rugby in a M and the same one in an XXL to wear at the same time (M on body, XXL tied around the waist) now i mostly wear the larger because the oversized nature makes it feel borrowed (re: better) and for the so smol of it all. v cutesy (im sorry) /A
