5 Good Things!
obvi this week felt [redacted]. here's what made me feel a lil dopamine.
My espresso machine has been broken since… April? DW, the second the sun started setting at 4.30pm, I ordered a new one :D. However, I must say that aside from fueling a Jack’s Stir Brew addiction… my at-home coffee hiatus has turned drinking matcha into a primary vertical of my personality. I’m a virgo and spent a lot of time doing comparative analyses LOL — I’ve concluded that Rocky’s Matcha is The Best Matcha (unfortunately.. oftentimes sold out). There’s JUST something so dreamy and so powerful about a good glass and a good matcha.
I’ll freeze my favorite mint Maison Balzac glass for 5 minutes, whisk up my Rocky’s, add some vanilla bean paste, take my glass out of the freezer + add some sexy ice cubes (~1inch square, weather beaten w/ a little texture), pour some Koatji over ice with a splash of Califia Lavender Creamer, and finally add the verdant stunning perfect matcha. It’s like a cloud of joy. Also…. compared to espresso, matcha this week just felt gentler. We love an intentional hot girl tease.
Haha sorry, but when I was in London…. I won. My best friend and I actually lost our minds at the outlet mall in Bicester (I promise to post London vlogs to socials, but this week feels like a muggy time? Maybe next?). I picked up some Very Good Finds that I had, coincidentally, been hunting for IRL. Felt like kismet. Some buys included an eyelet Isabel Marant top, a black satin trench from Sandro, and THE PERFECT LOAFERS FROM CELINE. Incredibly, the loafers are also on super sale via 24s rn (but not exactly outlet pricing)!!!
More on the loafer… because.. wow. I’ve decided that they will be filling the gaping hole in my heart left by the Row Men’s Loafer in Espresso (which I’ve been told *will* restock!). What I love is that they’re a classic silhouette (so I’ll wear forever), but the shiny croc makes them unique and fun (which is important to me because my outfits can be very white-button-down/blue-jean). I’m literally frothing to wear with a sheer red sock (or this bby blue pair), blue or black jeans, white buttons downs, sweaters, blazers…... Levitating.
Also — did some dopamine hunting (shopping) in soho on Thursday. Do you remember the Lisa Yang Butter Yellow Cashmere Turtleneck (very on sale) that I told u all about a few TMs ago? I spotted IRL at Kirna Zabete and bought immediately. The neck is perfect, the length is perfect. Dare I say it fits into the
RomCom sweater matrix????
Additionally (on thurs)… because the universe either loves or hates me… I remembered that the Nili Lotan sample sale is happening? If you know me, then you know that I RIDE FOR NILI LOTAN CLOTHING. She just perfectly encapsulates sexy/rocker/classic/timeless in a way that means a lot to me. The styling and execution is very Jenna Lyons core…. I am but a bby millennial/geriatric gen z so idk who was chicken and who was egg…...
Anyway, I picked up this perfect thin af navy blue sweater. Thin sweaters are perfect for layering, but also for when you want to throw The Row’s version of a sexy librarian at dinner. I need to do a try on so you can see the fit, but it works. I think this version of a thin sweater is hottest in navy blue & styled with black (feels v Zoe Kravitz, which is all I’ve ever hoped to throw). Will def wear with a black jean and MY BLACK CROC CELINE LOAFERS hehe.
I also picked up a button down in chocolate brown (nili lotan makes some of the best ones). Not sure what’s up with me and this color lately, like we get it…. you have a crush on me??? The fit is stunning — my friend (a NYC EIHG by way of Brazil & Paris) told me I would be stupid to not buy…..so I haaaad to perform my civic duty? Also, sorry, can’t find brown online </3. Will wear with a lighter wash jean, and either black loafers, or my British racing green Celine ones. The latter combo could be a hit or get very junior mint very fast…. i guess we’ll find out when we find out.
Yeah sorry, buddy, I’m going to need a sick home and this dining table IMMEDIATELY. I’ve gotta chill on my 1stDibs scrolling, it just leaves me feeling faint and famished for the Life I’m Meant To Live.
