Oh hiiiiii this one is a DOOZY. Today is for my girls who reaaaallly love fashion and reaaaallly love shopping. We’re going THERE in ways I can’t even express. Niche, EIHG approved finds, insane EIHG approved shopping experiences, and MORE. Also, if you are new to TM, read this for background on why the shorthand EHG/EIHG keeps getting used. Anyway, this letter is literally all that I could think about this week… no time 2 waste, LET’S DIG IN:

1. My dearest EIHG

   invited me to join her for Gucci’s high jewelry event. Insane is like not a big enough word to encapsulate what I experienced whilst there…. let’s go line by line:

   1. THE JEWELRY: this collection is entitled The Labyrinth and was STAGGERING IRL. I got to try on this $XXX,XXX tanzanite and diamond necklace that made me wonder WHY I don’t have a vault (cough, Jennifer Tilly) and whether or not it WOULD have been acceptable to pick up my nonexistent child from their chic and nonexistent preschool wearing this necklace + this outfit (khaite sweater + perfect tee + fave jeans + cropped trench + dries sneakers + baseball cap)??? LOL i fear motherhood would make me a menace.

      1. secondarily — the gold bamboo collar (not part of the high jewelry on show) is SO CHIC. The bamboo is my favorite element of Gucci’s house codes, and tbh I love bamboo ANYTHING (silverware, hand painted salt shakers, ETC lol — very 561 of me)… I also kept thinking about how stunning this would be if paired with a crispy white button down and a good jean and The Right Loafer (SPEAKING OF — JUST FOUND THE ROW’S PERFECT, BROWN EEL LOAFERS… BACK IN STOCK HERE)!!! YUM.

   2. Now let’s move over to custom/made to order, most of which will never be available in store:

2. My favorite EIHG sisters

   are beyond having a finger on “the pulse”. Hanna is dear friends with Merci C’est Vintage (EHG/EIHG core curation) and has always invited me to come to this popup that happens a few times a year at the fifth ave hotel (another EIHG approved NYC haunt)!! I’ve always been out of town when it’s around, but THIS TIME I was able to make it and boooooy was it worth it.

   1. To set the scene, I walked in and immediately felt like crying LOL. The chicest EIHGs you’ll ever see were milling around in perfect outfits (i’m talking these low rise white poplin pants with shrunken vintage graphic baby tees and 2005 Olsen fitted blazers and nondescript cheetah sneakers… with lived in black birkin 30/gold hardware adorned with a couple stickers in place of charms… THAT’S the fckn level). AND the room sounded like the Tower of Babel — english, french, italian, spanish, portuguese, mandarin, korean, arabic… it was ALL happening. I bumped into some old and new friends (ofc they would be here, I thought), and was so kindly guided through the popup by Hanna, here’s what stood out —

      1. These Emanuele Pantanella clutches are the chicest little fish you’ll ever see. Out of Rome, they are adorned with GEMSTONES (like emeralds/sapphires)… valuing the bespoke objects at a lite $10K. It’s just so the ethos of EIHG culture, I can’t even begin to describe. The point is the artistry, singularity of taste/vision, and the lack of sameness (even from piece to piece). At a wedding of mini Kelly’s…… Ur choice is clear ! LOL

         

         

      2. Then we have the EHG-beloved found by the — gorgeous curation of objects. Feels very

         ställe studios

         

      3. I picked up a gorgeous handpainted vase by the oft-gatekept Cimelio Blu

         

      4. DESPERATELY wanted to buy this gold clutch, but then got distracted by jewelry and completely forgot to circle back LOL. Taking it as a sign that there’s another vintage clutch that’s 4 me, but I will DEF be working with Merci C’est Vintage to procure… her personal curation was dizzying!!!!!!

      5. I (blacked out and) bought 4 necklaces??? One tigers eye collar (looks like this but diff stone) by mmosquito, whose atelier is in the south of Spain (so fab)! I recently wore it when I spoke on a panel for Lyst’s Fashion Intelligence Forum (with

         Grace Atwood
         !!!), and received rave reviews!!!! Also have two tassel necklaces + 1 beaded crystal lariat necklace (by Le Sundial) that are getting made for me! I ran into an EIHG pal who is also a shopping editor at Vogue & she helped steer my decision making once I became.. mentally fatigued LOL…..

      6. OK — for the sake of time, we’re tapping out of the popup (altho other finds will get sprinkled into future letters), and moving on!!! I’ll also share more on the necklaces when they arrive <3

3. My queeeeeeen and EHG

   Jess Graves
   introduced me to Gigi Burris who invited me to visit her studio last Friday!!!! Not only does Gigi resemble a 90s Gwyneth Paltrow??? She is also cut from the most grounded, earthy, and lighted cloth. We had deep chats on politics and the economy, and also about the state of Millinery!! I tried on this hat that Selena Gomez wore for a music video, oohed and aaahed at the met gala prep happening in the atelier, and then Gigi made this hat for me with the most glamorous ostrich feather pin. WOW.

4. I also attended TWP’s press preview recently, and this sheer tuxedo shirt is ALL that I can think about…. since it’s not out yet, my desires have shifted towards this one, which, despite featuring slightly more opacity, feels very perfect for summer!!!!

   and I stumbled into a perfect boutique in Tribeca last weekend post workout and a long breakfast!!!! the curation was insane. Some finds —

   1. The most evasive dries colorway (sold out on moda so fast and ISN’T anywhere else???)

6. OK — an online find, this top is darling. I’m into frilly frills lately, I guess I always have been, but I feel myself gravitating even more towards romance this year. Perhaps because the world feels existentially dreadful lately, OR because nothing feels sweeter than watching the flowers bloom in spring, but i’m here… and I think I will be for a while!!!

LASTLY, SEPHORA SALE — into the gloss called my top shelf a masterclass and I don’t think i’ve ever really recovered……. as a result, I feel a moral duty to keep the bar high!!!! I don’t buy a lot of makeup (and don’t wear foundation), but everything I use I am obsessed with and that makes me proud. Here’s the portion of my makeup bag that is found at Sephora!!!

1. BRUSHES: I think this is not MUA approved but I use this foundation brush for everything — concealer, contour (not nose — I use this for that), and when I don’t want to get my fingers dirty — i’ll also use it to blend my cream blush and highlighter. I also use this brush for my bronzer.

2. LIPS: I’m VERY into a Good Lip. Changes the face in a crazy way. When I wear this evening combo (liner in flush+ EIHG sheer lipstick in betisse) I have been told that I look like I just made out with someone in the best possible way….HOT? It’s kinda sheer/blotted and gives effortless + doesn’t come off!!! This in strawberry is the best daytime lip balm for the purse!!! And these are my two favorite glosses (here and here). The Westman Atelier gloss feels supple like a lip balm? And the Ami Cole has a SHINE that makes your entire face look more radiant.

3. COMPLEXION: I live and breathe for this bronzer. I think I discovered in college?? Brings perfect warmth without changing your skin. I also use as eyeshadow!! This is my favorite concealer that I wear under-eye (aside from the VB Beauty) — similar to nars radiant but feels more nourishing and has a glowier skin-finish! This is my go-to contour (also aside from the VB beauty one for precision on my nose!!), and I AM NOTHING if not for the Westman highlighter in brûlée that literally makes your skin look like GLASS + the Westman blush in poppet that makes me look awake and refreshed, but also blends so naturally. Lastly, I use this mostly in summer, but Westman makes this glowy liquid bronzer-meets highlighter that you only need a drop or two of BUT will make you look like you just spent 10 days getting your soul nourished by the sun at Sensei Lanai.

4. EYES: This is the best mascara of all time, and I fear it’s incredibly slept on???? Lengthens, great volume, buildable (day vs night), AND IT DOESN’T FLAKE OR SMUDGE.

5. SUNBLOCK: we obviously have to talk about the EIHG approved sunscreen that just dropped in the US? It was previously a status find if you were in London or Paris. Best sunscreen ever, and I keep getting DMs from people who have finally gotten to try, and AGREE!!!!!

Ok that is ALL <3 I believe shopping is less about buying and more about feasting your eyes on forms of beauty that have been fused by creativity. I’m hoping a little sprinkle of that came through today.
