Helloooo from the Greenwich Hotel, also known as downtown’s stealth EIHG mecca, also known as my favorite place (in NYC) to observe what’s on the edge of the EIHG universe. It’s the lord’s work, really…..

It has likely come to your attention that Black Friday/Cyber Monday (BFCM) is already in full swing. The sales began earlier than ever this year, but that’s not really a selling point if you’re a discerning shopper (which, if you’re reading this… I know and U know that you absolutely are). Lemme lay down the law of the szn succinctly: we’re not buying any stupid sh*t. That means, if you wouldn’t have bought it full price then it is NOT (!!!!!!!) making its way to your cart, let alone your doorstep.

You should also ALSO know that I don’t fck with final sale. At all. Don’t do this unless you already own it, have tried it (ideally more than once), or are BEYOND certain. It’s almost never worth it. The last (ish) guiding principle is that before you start buying, I am rlly going to need U to sit in stillness with the value of the dollar (which is SUBJECTIVE based on your value system — or what Econ grads would call ur indifference curve). For example, 20% off at violet grey makes me open that wallet WIDE, whereas 20% off at mytheresa makes me pause (i’m not immediately compelled, requires a bit of digging). For you, that might be the complete opposite. That’s not only OK, but it’s also.. the point.

There are plenty of places you can go for a FULL OUT list of all the sales happening, if that’s how you like to shop (check out ’s stellar coverage). HOWEVER, that’s not really the TM way (tariro makoni but also.. by virtue, trademarked).

Time spent in dark corners where I know ***I**** would never truly, authentically inhabit (e.g., the dimes square axis of SSENSE) makes me feel like time has been wasted. This would be in comparison to the dopamine of perusing a curated hit of gems… which makes me feel like God’s Favorite Pacman. As such…. I’m giving you a tight edit focused on the EIHG universe (duh)— which is based on what i’m observing EIHGs wear, what you guys are most compelled by (based on the data I see on my side), and what I know would make my personal GCs (teeming with EHGs + EIHGs) erupt in applause.

Their BFCM runs from Nov 17 to Dec 1, and the sale is site wide (20% off or more). Some things that gave me a double take were these very reasonably priced diamond tennis bracelets. While I’ve spent the weekend refreshing sites, I haven’t found many to be that compelling. As such, you’ll find a tight edit of everything worth perusing below!! I’m wishing you the happiest shopping and the magical buzz of finding something new <3.

Why it’s still worth shopping the SSENSE sale

For US customers, from August 28 onwards, all US duties and tariffs will be added to checkout on the SSENSE site. The way to think about this is not to say I’ll never shop Ssense again because (!!) their business model has always been to have some of the best deals on the internet. Instead, you just need to apply a new layer of discernment to purchases and discovery.

For example, this Lemaire coat that I’m obsessed with is $1800 everywhere else and $938 on SSENSE. With the ~$200 Duties + misc costs, that’ll total to around ~$1200. Which is a biter if the draw for pulling trig on the coat was the fact that it was a FAT steal. But if I really wanted the coat and the pricing wasn’t the PRIMARY factor for go/no-go, $600 off is objectively fabulous.

This is indifference curve shopping — something we already do subconsciously/is modeled by economists collectively, but not something we typically do consciously/vigilantly. Which is interesting because this imposition of tariffs is creating a new shopper psychology, something I’ll be analyzing (and likely building into a future case study hehe).

Anyway, that’s my two cents to not fall for the FULL dooms day reporting, sale wise!!! also had fabulous coverage led by this weekend on the SSENSE biz model that I recommend everyone reads!!

For this one, I’m not doing an aggressive linking because I think indifference curve shopping = led by YOU and not as much influenced by ME, but here are a couple of things that made my heart pitter patter (either in my cart or I already own!!):

• As MENTIONED — the choco brown Lemaire puffer is…. Woah. The funnel neck is my favorite style for puffers!!! Chic and visually interesting but also functionally AMAZING. Big Want and Big Need.

• This one 🍒✨🐬🌈💖 is for my pilates girls or my matcha + Pinterest at 8am on a Saturday morning girls !!!!!!

• Dries sweatshirts are so chic and so slept on???? I also have strong intel that they are BELOVED by all of my favorite, chic elusive (international) hot moms (as I reported on my guest feature w/ ). Anyway, ENJOY (this one is in my cart!!)

• You already know how I feel about this khaite top… when I saw it in store I audibly gasped…. gr8 price for how dramatically wonderful & timeless it is.

• MY FAVORITE SWEATER OF ALL TIME — I think this is a solid price. My ideal would be $600, but I’m not seeing many black ones around the internet anymore, and most are still $1600 (which to me is a wee insane for what it is… despite how magical and bouncy and plush and perfect the cashmere + construction of the batwings are). An ideal buy if you loooove compliments (hehe).

Out of all of the sales, I’d say the mytheresa flash sale is packed with the most GRAILS. However, I have been contemplating whether or not to even include this one, and have decided that out of principle, I’m not going to be linking to anything specific. Since everything is final sale (🫠)….. the mytheresa flash sale, like my nod to tariff shopping on SSENSE above, needs to be an endeavor led by you & not me….

The way I interact with anything on final sale is that I almost never participate unless I’ve tried it on and am thoroughly CERTAIN or already own it and am looking to double up (like me buying another Row Sherman long sleeve is PERFECT final sale bait). Anyway — you’re going to need to trust your gut on this one, however, it’s def worth a peruse!!!

Net-a-porter def has great things on sale but I won’t say they’re having A SALE. Does that make sense??? Same with Moda!!! Although if I’m picking one to sort through, I’d prob start with moda? The edit on their sale section is a bit tighter, so a fab place to peruse and discover!!

A perfect play on material, I love that they’re black so they give more formal, but because they’re cotton they can easily be beachy/breezy with the right top (sooo many options could go cropped crochet top, thin re/done x Hanes tank, a bikini top + billowy oversized button down … any i’ve mentioned + a sweater over the shoulder….)!! If you go more neutral, I feel a strong urge to style these pants with this necklace. Dreamy!

4. I feel like this top was an instant classic when it came out — a perfect summer strapless moment that looked good on everyone I saw it on!! I’d sincerely be thrilled to see it again this year (and the sale price is STUN). Which makes me so happy because i’ve always believed that shopping sales is one of life’s greatest pleasures…. like the thrill of discovering something dizzying at a price that feels too good to be true??? VERY exciting!!!! And on that note, before we continue, I want to be clear on a few guiding principles as we move forward:

• Every pick will always be EHG/EIHG certified (read about that here). I’ll only ever surface EIHG-aligned brands, and things that have been stamped with that aura. My only exception is for picks relevant to Goop-adjacency, but that’s a subthread of the EHG/EIHG lineage anyway LOL.

VIOLET GREY: they’re doing a “put it in the bag” event wherein the whole site is eligible for a tiered discount based on how much you spend (e.g., 15% off for $250, up to 25% off for $1,000+). Here’s a niche & pared down EIHG shortlist of like DESERT ISLAND picks — aka must haves that everyone is feral for/whispering about RN —

1. Starting with BREAKING NEWS: Violet Grey just launched Madame Grey, a $1,100 perfume (extrait de parfum) that’s being sold in a limited capacity (only 1,100 vessels)…. The insane part is that they aren’t listing any of the perfume’s notes online. So if you can’t make it to a Violet Grey store to smell it IRL, the only thing you’ll ever know about what it smells like is per the website’s “It smells like every girl who ever broke your heart.” Ominous, but im intrigued..

2. What’s even crazier??? VG launched a massive (3.4 oz) bottle of hair perfume with the same scent….. for only $100??? AKA the same-ish product 1/10th the price??? I got my hands on both perfumes yesterday (TY Hirshleifers), which I sprayed LIBERALLY in my hair and on my inner wrist before departing for ’s outdoor garden party!!!

3. SO WHAT DOES IT SMELL LIKE TARIRO??? Sweeter than you’d think… but not entirely unique??? Like you’ve definitely smelled something adjacent before. NOTES: It’s the axis of fresh (soapy & powdery and maybe a little salty in a summery/mildly aquatic way), floral (maybe geranium or hints of jasmine/lilly of the valley.. dark horse would be white peony), creamy (a little sandalwood and perhaps a little white tea… it’s like very creamy!!!), with HINTS of sweet citrus (I think mandarin… compliments the creaminess) and a lil sweet vanilla. There’s maybe a dash of patchouli, and it gets more powdery and like fresh/soapy as it dries down.

   1. I think you’d initially expect the woman who broke your heart to smell like tantalizing + dark… oudy/musky/woody/spicy… or like a heady-gourmandy blend… but this is the polar opposite. Which actually tracks, because I think the heartbreak that cuts deepest is from the person who never leads with the fact that they have the capacity to eviscerate you. Madame Grey smells like an intoxicating love, yes, but the kind that stems from letting your guard down and getting diabolically trounced on by the sweetest fairy in the land. Even worse, you can’t seem to hate her after she leaves — you cling to the sweetly unassuming scent that lingers on your pillows, now mixed with the saltiness of your tears, because it still smells like safety, trust, and vulnerability. CRUSHING.

      1. I will also say, after we’d finished dousing the hirschleifers’ violet grey outpost with the scent, a 50ish year old woman came up and asked what is that fragrance? And it looked like she had STRONG intent to buy. I could see this becoming the new baccarat rouge for women over 45!!! Lily Vanderwoodsen’s daytime scent if I may.

   2. STRATEGY: If i’m being honest, I’d have been pissed if I spent $1,100 with a promise to overtly break a man’s heart and it’s more Water Lilly than s3x siren LMFAO. I will say that the $100 (3.4oz!) hair scent is a brilliant pick. It lasted just as long as the perfume did!! Which at first I was like how dumb for them to have launched the SAME SCENT for a fraction of the price at the SAME TIME. Like doesn’t that immediately cheapen the value of the $1,100 bottle??? Until my strategy brain turned on (thank god) and I realized that the $1,100 perfume is simply a red herring and the vehicle for this vertical’s profitability RELIES on selling that hair mist. Which is fckn BRILLIANT because every aspirational consumer of the $1,100 perfume will be sprinting to get their hands on something that feels priced almost too good to be true (like you CAN spray hair perfume on your body…..). If the extrait de parfum is for lily vanderwoodson and her highland park/beverly hills/greenwhich contingents, then the hair perfume is the west village girl’s dream dupe. (FYIW — I bought the hair perfume… no regrets lmfao, I feel flirty and powerful).

2. This is the tinted moisturizer EIHGs are hoarding for summer. Apparently it’s so good it’s baptismal (leaving one feeling refreshed, anew, and anointed). Ppl are still gatekeeping this, so it’s worth giving a whirl if you get a rush from being EARLY and you like the idea of having skin that looks rich enough to have been bestowed its own trust.
